Reason #13208320832 why living in America is so freaking great:
Our electronics work and are not held together by duct tape, string, or other odds 'n' ends.
Example: I just went to turn off my fan, but pulled a bit over-zealously on the make-shift chord (a piece of ratty string not much more than the thickness of embroidery floss. The string snapped off in my hand, and there is no way to turn my fan off now.
It's going to be a long, cold, electricity-wasting winter if I can't figure out how to re-attach the string and turn off the fan once more...............
